Phishing is a form of cybercrime that exploits the security loopholes of online application software to steal confidential data from others. Phishing may occur in the way of a variety of electronic communications such as emails, instant messaging or voice calls.
In recent times there is an increasing number of reports from different Institutions and Organizations regarding phishing attempts through email spoofing, which involves the creation of email messages with forged email ids. In this mode of phishing, an unknown person masks himself as a responsible entity by creating a fake email id that looks like a legitimate one from a competent person. The soft targets are those who are not very much conversant with cyber frauds and security issues. The sole objective of phishing is to obtain the confidential information of an individual such as user id, password, bank account details, debit and credit card details.
Please be careful and do not open and respond to any such suspicious emails and report the matter immediately to webmaster@iiests.ac.in/landesk@iiests.ac.in
Stay safe and keep your confidential data safe!
